About the Position: The Prophet 21 Programmer and SQL Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining software applications within the Prophet 21 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, with a strong focus on utilizing SQL for database management and reporting.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the ERP system.
Essential Responsibilities: Software Development: Develop and maintain custom programs and applications within the Prophet 21 ERP system to meet the specific business needs of the organization.
Database Management: Design, optimize, and maintain the Prophet 21 database using SQL, ensuring data accuracy, security, and performance.
Reporting: Create and maintain SQL-based reports and dashboards for various stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.
Integration: Work on integrating Prophet 21 with other systems and platforms, such as e-commerce websites, CRM systems, or third-party applications.
Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve technical issues and bugs related to the Prophet 21 system, offering technical support and expertise to end-users.
Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of custom code, scripts, and database structures for future reference and team collaboration.
Collaboration: Collaborate with IT teams, business analysts, and end-users to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement changes to the Prophet 21 system.
Security and Compliance: Ensure that the ERP system and associated databases adhere to security and compliance standards, including data protection and privacy regulations.
Performance Optimization: Identify opportunities for improving the performance and efficiency of the ERP system, both in terms of software and database operations.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications, Attributes, Education, and/or Experience: A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
Strong experience with Prophet 21 ERP system, including customization and configuration.
Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers for data retrieval and manipulation.
Business rules is a plus.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C#, .
NET, or Java is a plus.
Expertise in database design, optimization, and maintenance, with a focus on SQL Server or similar database systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users.
Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Familiarity with other ERP systems or modules is a plus.
Understanding of data security, compliance, and best practices.
A commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in ERP and SQL.
Computer Skills: Strong experience with ERP systems, preferably in Epicor Prophet 21.
High proficiency in Microsoft Office, emphasizing Excel is essential.
