Summary
Participates in the planning, functional design and implementation of the Customer Information System (CIS) and all applications integrating with the host system.
Essential Functions
Assist in the development of system rules and validations for the Customer Information System, iNovah Cashiering System and all other related applications interacting with the host system for customer data.
Research, identify and recommend possible solutions to customer request and billing issues.
Assist in the collection and analyzing of data for LP&L management, Water Utilities and the City of Lubbock Finance and Audit departments.
Retrieve data material from the Customer Information and Billing System using various report writing tools: Crystal and or SQL *Plus.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Products such as MS Word, Excel, Power Point & Access to draft and or compile data material.
Knowledge of Microsoft Project and Visio is a plus.
Prepare reports to document application issues; make recommendations and communication requirements to the software vendor.
Create test scenarios for thoroughly testing software applications and code updates
Perform related Duties as Required
Qualifications
Completion of a bachelor degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a related field with an additional five years of increasingly responsible experience in using and testing computer applications; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the following:
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Software for customer information and billing (prefer Customer Suite), Microsoft Office 7 Products, SQL * Plus and Oracle with the ability to retrieve data and analyze.
Principles and practices of effective communication, both written and verbal
Ability/skill to:
Ability to setup and execute test scenarios to test software applications.
Maintain appropriate documentation of issues to be resolved and test results obtained.
Make definitive decisions regarding application setup, system rules and validation to ensure effective business practices.
Physical Requirement:
Frequently lift and carry up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Occasionally walk and stand during shift
Frequently rotate upper trunk to right or left while sitting or standing.
