The Cybersecurity Specialist will assess complex IT environments from a security perspective, determine the effectiveness of technical controls, communicate results with clients, and recommend solutions for identified vulnerabilities.
Job Type Full-time, non-supervisory.
Some travel is required.
Applicant must be authorized to work in the U.
S.
and not require sponsorship.
This is an in-office position located in the Lubbock, TX area.
Key Responsibilities Conduct vulnerability scanning and evaluation of technical controls, including firewall/router configurations; occasional travel availability is necessary as this could involve onsite travel to client locations.
Draft assessment reports and communicate results with a range of technical and non-technical clients.
Perform general cybersecurity duties when needed, such as training client employees and assisting in implementing technical and administrative controls.
When vulnerability assessments are expanded to include these items, evaluate the adequacy of risk assessments, policies, and procedures.
Communicating technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
Keeping up with industry developments, new technologies, and best practices.
Improving knowledge and expertise through independent research, practice, and industry-accepted certifications.
Qualifications, Education & Experience Understanding cybersecurity fundamentals is a must.
Understanding networking concepts and IP networks is a must.
Proficiency with Windows-based computers and Office product suite is a must.
Excellent oral and written communication is a must.
The ability to work responsibly and successfully in both individual and team settings is a must.
The ability to work on multiple projects is a must.
Attention to detail and good judgment are a must.
Desire to learn and apply what you learn immediately is a must.
IP network certifications are a plus.
Minimum four (4) years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, or auditing.
A degree in information systems or information technology is preferred but not required.
Minimum one of the following certifications: CISA and/or CISSP.
Also, CISM, Security+, or CCNA are a plus but not required.
