Role Overview
The Cost Analyst provides stakeholders with the information and analysis required to support business decisions related to controlling the costs of homebuilding.
Your core objectives involve rigorously validating data and pinpointing avenues for cost-efficiency.
Core Functions
Dive deeply into cost-related data and become a subject matter expert.
Regularly verify accuracy of data used in reporting.
Analyze data to identify cost trends, variances, and opportunities for savings and work with other teams/departments to implement findings.
Provide leadership with actionable analyses of home-related costs.
Report on financial performance monthly.
Provide insightful analysis on areas where costs can be decreased.
Establish standard operating procedures to guide recurring analyses.
Create and revise ad hoc reports as requested by senior leadership.
Develop and maintain effective cross-functional relationships.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in business analytics, data analytics, or similar field; or 1-3 years of relevant work experience
Strong Excel skills
Experience in analysis and reporting
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Tableau or PowerBI
Experience with SQL, Python, or other query languages
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Office Environment
Vision for near, mid-range and far as well as hearing for low, medium, and high pitch.
Requires physical ability for standing, sitting, crouching, kneeling, frequent walking, reaching above head and below waist.
Ability to lift 5 - 20 pounds.
Hours & Schedule
Average 40 hours per week (8am-5pm, M-F).
Minimal travel required for company events and inter-region collaboration.
