The firm is looking to hire an experienced Payroll Specialist to aid us in continued growth.
This individual, under supervision of the Senior Accountant, is expected to be hard-working, dedicated, organized, detail oriented, and able to address all payroll-related inquiries and issues.
Responsibilities for Payroll Specialist
Maintain ERP (Employee Resource Planning) database regarding payroll, labor costing, and deposit accounts, and aid HR in upkeep of TPA payroll system.
Timely review, update, and process ALL timesheets and payroll.
Maintain and monitor garnishment orders and other items impacting payroll.
Timely review payroll reports and post reconciling entries to the General Ledger
Work directly with payroll TPA and other third-parties as necessary to ensure federal and state labor and tax compliance is maintained.
Work directly with clients to achieve organization goals as required.
Prepare payroll-related reports to relevant departments and clients.
Qualifications for Payroll Specialist
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business or accounting preferred.
Proven experience as a payroll specialist in a fast-paced environment of 150+ employees required.
Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws (federal and multi-state)
Good understanding of common fiscal procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer literacy including proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
Expertise in using functions, tables, and pivots in Excel is essential.
Exceptional multitasking, organizational and mathematical skills
Able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Ability to work some weekends and holidays.
Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time (standing desk available upon request)
