The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Senior Financial Analyst leads complex financial analysis and reporting in support of business segment priorities throughout the organization.
This position leads financial reporting and business metrics that support the strategic direction and financial objectives of the business.
Responsibilities of this position include creating and communicating monthly close reporting, business metric dashboards, profitability reporting, along with partnering with Finance leadership on forecasting and annual planning to ensure strategic goals are achieved.
This position partners with key Finance, Division Bank, Line of Business and HTLF Headquarters department stakeholders in and managing risk.
Primary Responsibilities * Leads financial reporting and data analytics for Division Bank(s), Line of Business and/or HTLF departments.
Provides financial reporting for monthly close, forecast and annual planning.
Interprets financial results to drive accountability to achieve plan objectives at the HTLF, HQ, LOB, Bank, segment, product and sales position level.
Develops and maintains financial modeling to support strategic execution and identifies areas to improve business performance.
Ensures alignment between FP&A, Accounting and Line of Business analytics to provide a single source of truth for financial information and analysis and serves as the accounting team liaison to Bank leadership.
* Maintains FP&A reporting structure aligned with financial objectives.
Ensures consistent definitions of the Line of Business or HTLF departments/business segments aligned with the HTLF strategy.
Maintains hierarchies that support financial reporting at entity, account and product levels for close, forecast and plan.
Integrates business metrics with financial reporting to support business decisions that drive strategic execution.
Establishes and maintains a centralized FP&A reporting environment to ensure reporting accuracy and increase the speed of execution.
* Serves as financial trusted advisor to Member Bank, Line of Business or HTLF departments.
Leads development and communication of financial reporting to Line of Business sales teams and/or HTLF management.
Presents complex financial analysis in a clear and concise manner.
* Manages the validity of data contained within the financial systems to ensure all hierarchies and calculations performed within the system align with the Bank's financial methodologies and reporting structure.
Performs ad hoc analysis requests from Senior Management and/or the Board of Directors.
* Leads the development and communication of business case financial modeling quantitative and qualitative analytical work that unlocks insights and drives sound decision making on key issues.
* Manages profitability analysis including FTP, Loan Loss, Cost and Capital methodologies to support LOB, segment, officer, product and client profitability decisions to achieve financial performance return targets.
* Leads the delivery of reporting and communication to management to highlight daily/monthly close financial results, identify trends vs.
single events in the financials.
Coaches and trains finance team members in how to research variances, review management reports for accuracy and create ways to convey the most critical information in a succinct manner.
* Leads development and communication of annual financial planning and quarterly forecasting processes that support HTLF strategic execution including key business drivers (i.
e.
sales pipelines) and market conditions.
* Partners with LOB and HTLF leaders in developing and tracking top corporate initiatives dashboards.
* Supports client level deal pricing guidance and return requirements based on established thresholds.
* Performs competitive research, bench-marking and analysis.
* Supports Human Resources with incentive compensation calculations for LOB sales positions and/or HQ departments.
* Completes annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned and keeps up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it relates to the job function.

Qualifications * Bachelors Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Finance required * Masters Accounting, Business Administration/Management, Economics, Finance preferred * 5-7 years 4+ years of experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting at a publicly traded financial institution.
required * Thorough understanding of the technical aspects of budgeting, forecasting and management reporting systems and software.
required * Possess in-depth Banking knowledge of product hierarchies, accounting standards, and management accounting concepts.
required * Proven ability to take high level direction and produce results which show thought leadership that will drive value and improve processes with limited supervision.
required * Must be able to perform well in a high-pressure, time sensitive environment.
required * Comfortable and skilled in managing across multiple senior executive lead stakeholder groups to achieve results and implement necessary changes.
