POSITION PURPOSE
Performs quantitative and qualitative credit analysis and underwriting for commercial loan requests.
Works with commercial lending officers to understand and measure the risks associated with both new and existing client relationships and to create loan structures to mitigate these risks.
Prepares written presentations summarizing loan opportunities with minimal turn-around times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
Analyzes client-specific financial statements, spreads, and ratios as well as broader industry and economic risks that could jeopardize loan repayment.
Receives instruction from loan officers to review credit issues and obtain additional information, including outside calls as required.
Prepare credit memorandums that summarize lending opportunities, the associated risks, and the proposed loan structure.
Describes how loan structures mitigate identified risks.
Identify high-risk credit situations and take appropriate action to ensure that the Bank is well protected.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
College degree in business or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
College coursework should include accounting, finance, and financial statement analysis.
Completion of a banking internship desired
Required Knowledge:
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements, industry data, and customer profiles.
Ability to produce both oral and written presentations.
Ability to apply concepts such as trends, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to create and interpret projections based on extrapolation of financial data.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions with limited guidance.
Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
Excellent planning and organizational skills, including the ability to work independently.
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality and instill trust within the organization.
Ability to multitask is essential.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
40 hours per week.
