Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our finance team.
As a Cost Accountant, you will be responsible for analyzing financial data, monitoring costs, and ensuring accuracy in our accounting records.
This is a vital role in our organization, as you will play a key part in helping us make informed business decisions and maintain financial stability.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, policies, and procedures
- Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends and provide insights to management
- Monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies
- Perform cost analysis for new products or services
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including balance sheet reconciliations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve cost efficiency and profitability
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal controls
- Assist with accounts payable and payroll functions as needed
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting principles and financial concepts
- Proficient in MS Excel and other accounting software systems
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to interpret financial reports and make recommendations based on findings
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and financial report interpretation
- Knowledge of budgeting processes and variance analysis
- Familiarity with accounts payable and payroll procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
