Summary
Provides administrative support to the Warrants Division of the Sheriff's Office; processes warrants; sends teletypes to other law enforcement agencies; enters and removes warrant information from TCIC/NCIC and local computer systems; runs regular reports of warrants, dismissals, recalls, telephone calls, arrests, etc.
; assists with various aspects of prisoner pick-ups; and performs various clerical duties, including preparing correspondence, answering telephones, ordering office supplies.
Essential Duties
Processes warrants, and updates information; enters it in the County computer, entering felonies into the TCIC/NCIC system, filing the cards into warrant box and filing the warrants in the proper place.
Send TTY's to law enforcement agencies to attempt to locate suspects in other areas.
Prepares miscellaneous paperwork for extraditions and carry them to the District Clerk's Office and DA's Office as needed.
Answer phones, takes messages, provides information to callers and transfer calls.
Send warrants back to courts that have been dismissed or recalled.
Provide directory assistance for the public; attorneys, other agencies etc, by telephone.
Check and confirm warrant status for other agencies.
Provide information to Crime Line and receive and relay information to officers by radio.
Keep in close contact with records division, DA's Office, Courts, Treasures Office,Clerks Offices, in reference to dispositions and bonds received on warrants.
Pick up warrants from four JP Courts, County Clerk's Office, and District Clerk's Office
Research the validity and destination of each warrant using JBK and Case Analysis.
Process and activate Warrants.
Process DPS warrants from JP Courts.
Keep monthly reports of inmate transports, bench warrants, and detainers.
Process monthly reimbursement reports ofTDCJ trips and Attorney General's Office trips.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma; at least one or two years of increasingly responsible secretarial and clerical experience.

Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.
Telephone techniques and etiquette; principles and procedures of record keeping.
Knowledge and experience using the Lubbock County computer system and software.
Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions; communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with inside as well as outside agencies.
